A point z = z0 is called a regular point or an ordinary point of a function f(z) if f(z) is analytic at z0, otherwise z0 is called a singular point or a singularity of the function f(z). Basically, there are two types of singularities : (i) isolated singularity; (ii) non-isolated singularity.
